Week 6.2 - 18/10/18 Hand ins
Hand in day! Yay!!! I'm so proud of what both myself and Maddie have accomplished, the final work we're handing in looks as follows:

Rationale:
Koha: Design For Good, By Maddie Jones and Holly McLeishThe event we chose to pursue throughout this assessment was a Seaside Shindig. Seaside Shindig aims to promote tsunami awareness and create opportunities for neighbours to get together. The idea was created that neighbours would turn up at their local beach, catch up with the people closest to them and learn the first steps in preparing for a tsunami. We can’t forget the beach games, live music and a kiwi BBQ to top the event off. Through our touchpoints we drew inspiration from 1950s travel posters. Vibrant rusty tones, curved lines and imagery that flowed with the wave. Though our design we wanted to reference pastiche as our rhetorical device. We took inspiration from our visual precedents and applied some of their stylistic approaches to our poster design, we then developed this into a tsunami survival booklet, postcard and website. We chose to utilise the same fonts, illustrative style and colour palette across all of our touchpoints. This ensured that our trans media project was cohesive and worked well as a unified system. If we were to develop this design further, we could look into creating our own tsunami survival kit as well as developing our brand to create an even more so realistic representation of a Neighbours Day Event.Stream B16396466 & 16326534
